The exhaust gas drawn off for recirculation at a temperature of around 650 degrees Celsius is far too hot to be fed directly into the cylinders. For this reason, the exhaust gas is first cooled to around 120 degrees Celsius. The cooling system is optimally integrated into the engine design concept, so that the customer needs only to allow for a very small space requirement.

Question by Andy P: Key for an old radiator?
This is my first winter in my really old house. I am under the impression that the old radiators require some sort of key-like device that I would use to somehow release air trapped inside the radiators and make them work more efficiently.

Anyone know anything about this and where a guy like me could buy such a key? Thanks!

They’re actually not as hard to find as you might think.

Many hardware stores still carry them, as do some plumbing and heating stores. I would check the local businesses before looking into any major chains.

I also found one through Yahoo Shopping, if you can’t find one anywhere else.

Single radiator in bedroom

Freezing cold when heating on

Tried bleeding, key works on all other similar radiators in house but not this one. Radiator pin has became quite round and the bleed key is sort of hexaganol.

Only about 5 cm in between radiator and wall so difficult to get hand in…use pliers etc…

Any ideas or tools that could help?
